Lookie! Lookie!

Look what I did today! I started at about three after I went grocery shopping and finished at about eleven thirty. I even stopped to make dinner and go to my moms for a bit. I can't believe I did the finishing on it today to!

In My Garden Scissor Fob

by Shepherd's Bush

The only thing is, is that I don't care for the way the 8 looks on 2008. :( All well. There was a reason behind me picking to complete this project. I lost my scissors two days ago. So I figured in order for me to keep tabs on them I needed a scissor fob. Overall, it turned out nice but now I don't want to use it, I just want to look at it while its still perfect. I will have to get over that. Scissors are an important part of every project.

Hope everyone had a great day!

TaDa!!!

Here is what I did with my Bent Creek Flag.

This is the first thing that I have cross-stitched that I didn't get framed. I'am proud of myself! At first I thought it would be too big but it turned out perfect. Thanks to Vonna (http://thetwistedstitcher.blogspot.com/) I used her tutorial to complete my easel!

Weekly Update

Last night I stitched from 6-12 with the Lets Stitch group. Here are my before and after pics...

I didn't get as much done as last week but I did make some progress.

Today me and my mom made easels. I turned my bent creek piece into an easel! It looks great but I have to put the cording on tonight so I will post a picture of it tomorrow. Also, I'm hoping that tomorrow I can finish one of my prairie schooler ornaments to post as well.

Have a great day!

I finished my Bent Creek Flag1998 (2008)! I'm so happy that I finished it. For every one piece finished start at least two more. :) I guess I should have straightened it a little better before I took the picture. :(

Shopping...again!

So today I went shopping... again. I bought all kinds of fun stuff to do. Like I have nothing to do :) I bought all kinds of fabrics for different projects that I have been trying to get together. I have everything to start my prairie schooler christmas strawberries. Can't wait to start them this week!

I also got two Shepherd's Bush pieces which I have seen done and absolutly love.

I wish I could start both of these right now, but I have to finish somethings I have started :( I guess. It just gives me more inspiration to finish my other pieces quicker. I will work on my strawberries for "Lets Stitch" for the challenge this week. Better get started!

Tonights SAT

Tonight I'am working on my Bent Creek Snapperbets piece for the SAT. I needed a short break so I decided to write a post on my break. Here is my before picture.

This is who Im stitching with tonight. What a crowd, that is my seat! They love me. That is belle my minature pincher, velcro the black and white cat, and Serbie the big fat one on the back of the couch. Poor couch cushion never stood a chance against her. Well, I'm going to get back to stitching, hopefully they will make room for me. I will post an after picture tomorrow. Hope everyone from "Lets Stitch" is having a great time : )

Stitch and Bitch

So tonight I went to the Salty Yarns for stitch and bitch. It is where a group of us get together and eat, talk about things, and stitch. For the most part talk. I worked on my Bent Creek Flag. I don't have too much more done. Not enough to share yet. This was my first time with the group and I didn't know that last month they set up a competition; who could stitch a piece and make the most creative thing out of it. Here are the pieces. I think they are by Heart and Hand.

All three were very unigue. We all voted on which one was the most creative. I'm ashamed to say but I forgot which one won. :( Anyway they were all creative. I had a great time and hope to go next time they get together.

New Things

I currently go to Old Dominion University, I will recieve my BA next year. So I really like to stitch pieces that I can hang in my future classroom. Here is a piece that I finished two months ago.

This is called Teachers Row by Bent Creek. Me and my mom went to the shop today. I spent way too much money but I couldn't help myself. I bought Snapperbets 3 pattern which is a continuence of the ones I already have; picture of what I've done so far in another post.

I also bought Lizzie Kate double flips Christmas pattern. Maybe I will get to that eventually. :) Syke I will probably start that next week.

Stingy

I have realized that I'm very stingy when it comes to my cross-stitch. I want to keep everything that I stitch for my self. My brothers sister really wanted the snapperville piece that I did (pic in my first post) but I couldn't part with it because I put so much time and hard work into it. So yesterday I started a new Bent Creek piece.

I planned on giving this to my boyfriends sister because she likes country and it would go with her living room. But I really like it and I don't know if I will be able to give it to her after I'm done. I thought about stitching it twice but that seemed like a boring idea. I sware I'm not normally stingy but it is something about my stitch pieces that I can't part with. Is this normal? :(

"Crafty"

I want to thank Coni and Karen for posting comments to my blog. When I first started this bog I was nervous that no one would comment or look at my blog so I wanted to thank you.

I think that cross stitching has made me more "crafty." I went to a retreat that my mom went to, to visit and stitch with everyone and I noticed that everyone had unique name tags. So the other day my boyfriend got rid of a bunch of jean pants. I got thinking. I cut out the pockets, even the small inside change ones. I told my mom that we should make name tags out of pants pockets. Well my boyfriend has big jeans which means big pockets so we decided to make necklaces out of the big pockets and name pins with the little pockets. We decided that the necklace would be good for scissors etc. because it was a pocket duh :) Anyway here is a picture. We used fablic glitter glue and iron on flowers aren't they cute?

Work In Progress

I'am working on several pieces. One is "Christmas" Tree by MDesigns. Me and my mom are working on the same project but in different colors I am doing it on white linen with red glitter thread (Yuck) and she is doing it on white linen with green nordic glitter thread. We are only going to stitch this piece when we are together.

The second piece I am working on is by Bent Creek. It is a new piece called Snapperbets. It comes out on seperate charts every couple months. So far I only have the first chart that has the border and a couple letters of the alphabet on it, and the second chart with the next three letters. I really like this pattern and it only took me a couple days to get this far on it. The bad part is that I get to start a new project soon because I won't be able to go any farther. Don't get me wrong I love to start new projects but I hate to have too many projects started. I like to finish what I start before moving on. I'm sure that will change as I keep stitching. I will post a picture of what I decide to start tomorrow.

My Obsession

Hi, my name is Candi about eight months ago I started cross stitching. I have become obsessed with it and have to stitch everyday eventhough I have a full time job and go to school full time. My mom got me stitching, she stitches everyday as well. We visit each other and stitch together on my nights off. The nearest stitch store is in Ocean City, Maryland, Salty Yarns (http://www.saltyyarns.com/) which is an hour and a half from where I live. Me and my mom go every weekend. She attends retreats and classes there. There is also a group that meets once a month called "stitch and bitch". This month will be the first time I go. Im sure I will post pictures and what happens in a later post. I am also attending my first retreat in May of 09 I am very excited.

The piece above is by Bent Creek called Snapperville.
The piece to the right is an over one by Brightneedle.
I have many more projects complete and will post them in my other posts. I will also post the pieces that I'am currently working on in the next couple of posts as well. I have plenty to share. I will keep everyone posted.
