Summer is almost here!

I have some updates!!! First off, it is starting to look and feel like summer! I'm so excited for my 2 months off!
On to stitching.... Here is Shephers's Bush, Here we go A Haunting. It is done. There were words that I are supposed to go at the top but I felt that it would be too crowded so I left them off. I'm still trying to decide what to make this into. I was thinking abaout a pillow with fabric around the edges, or maybe frame it? Any suggestions!??

I have also made some progress on the Lauren Sauer class piece. I am taking the class at Salty Yarns in Ocean City, Mayland in June. There is still more to do but it is coming along.

For the most part I'm focusing on my class piece. This is my last day of Spring Break so I'm off to enjoy the rest of this beautiful day! Have a great week!

Snow... March... Confused

First, I have to say, I woke up this mornng and it was snowing! We ended up with at least 2 inches, but then the sun came out and i all melted by 5 pm. I can't believe it! Last week it was in the 70's one day! Crazy...

On to the good stuff...I have some update pictures!!! The first picture is of my Lauren Sauer Class piece. I finially got my second layer of circles done! Yipee for me!

Also, Blu asked what my new flip-it pattern was going to look like :). Here is a picture of the wall hanging that is optional to buy and it fits the pattern. Then the first three booklets that have came out so far. The next picture is of what it will look like when it is done. :) I hope everyone has a great week. Back to reality tomorrow. :(

It's been a while... uhg!

It is March, almost April! Come on summer! I don't think I have ever said that until this year. I have always loved winter because I had a seasonal job waiting tables at my boyfriends restaurant. So I would work hard all summer and relax and go on vacation in the winter. Well now I teach and I have worked all winter, soooooooo come on SUMMER! It was in the high 70's on Friday! But it was a tease because it was only in the 50's today.

Anyway, I have been stitching, not a lot but some. First I have Shepherd's Bush, Here We Go A Haunting.

For some reason the picturer wouldn't load so I will post it next time.

Here is Lizzie Kate's Boo Club flip its. This design is from last year. But my goal is to finish it soon because I bought the new Lizzie Kate, Halloween Rules, Flip its.

Also, I am taking a class at Salty Yarns in June, Lauren Sauer. Here is what I have so far.Okay I'm off to stitch now hopefully I will be back soon. Come onnnnn Summerrrrrr!

Breaking my New Year's Resolution Already!

I stitched a little bit last week but I didn't stitch at all this weekend. I said my New Year's resolution was going to be able to have a life. Well that is what I did last week and it took me all Sunday and tonight, so far, to catch up. So now I am caught up and I will share some pictures. The first one is Shepherd's Bush, Here we Go A Haunting. The second one is Quaker Diamonds by Rosewood Manor.

The weather says that it is supposed to snow for only a little while tomorrow but mostly rain, but I don't see how it will rain with a high of 33 and the humidity makes it like 24 so we will see. Bring on the Snow!! I want a snow day!

I have made some progress on Shepherd's Bush, Blue Snowman. I will share a picture later this week. I'm not feeling very chattie tonight bacause it is back to reality tomorrow. :( But my New Year's Resolution is to actually have a life outside of my job. I hope everyone had a great New Years.

Wind, Go Away!

We got a total of 14 inches of snow! I loved every minute of it but the wind is making me mad! I plan on finally going shopping tomorrow but I don't think that will happen because of the wind making snow drifts. I live on an island and we have a bridge to get off and then immediatly after the bridge there is a base called NASA which has a huge fenced in field that you have to drive around (about 3 miles) Well when the wind blows across that field it creates massive snow drifts on the road. Today we were told that there was a drift that was 15 foot high. Anyway they closed the road and everything. Now it is back open but I am worried it is going to happen all over again tomorrow. Then I will be stuck in the house again because I am definatly not risking geting stuck in the snow.

I will stop rambling now... I have got some stitching done over the last couple of days. Here is Bent Creeks, Christmas Mantle.

Winter Weather update

Just a quick update.

This picture was taken about a half hour ago.

(FYI the weather online said we have an estimated 3.5 inches, maybe I should send them this picture.)

It is still snowing and blowing! It is supposed to stop tomorrow. This is insane. In Feb. it snowed alot and before that we haven't seen that much snow in a long time. I don't know what has happened but I love it. I really enjoy snow and I'm excited that we are actually getting some since we haven't seen much in years.

Off to eat, stitch, and watch football. I'm pretty sure I will be doing those three things repeatedly for the rest of the day. :)

(Bad) Picture Happy

Here is a picture, a not very good one, but this is how much snow we have got so far.

It started snowing around 4 ish and hasn't stopped yet. The weather lady said it isn't supposed to stop until Monday afternoon! I won't be able to leave the house for a week! She said 10-15 inches. Just yesterday she said, "I have good news, it looks like we will just get a few flurries." Well I would like to know what happened overnight! Santa Clause must have told the weather lady that it wasn't nice to tell fibs so she decided to tell the whole east coast that they were in deep doodoo (aka snow) haha. I was supposed to go shopping tomorrow but I guess that will have to be postponed, more stitching will get done. Win win situation. :)

On a stitchy front I have made some progress on Bent Creek's Christmas Mantle but I will show that tomorrow. Today I decided to work on Shepherd's Bush, Blue Snowman. I recieved it for Christmas, Thank You SOOOO much! I don't have much done but a little to share. The fabric is a beautiful dark blue the picture doesn't do it any justice.

I'm going to eat a snack and go to bed, maybe read some of my book. Hopefully I will get up early. Maybe I will open my closed in porch up tomorrow to get some heat in there and cross stitch and watch the snow.

Free at last!

Today was my last day of teaching and we only had a half day! Now I am so happy that I have absolutly nothing to do! I must stitch!

Last night I worked a little bit on Bent Creek Christmas Mantle.

Tonight I have only managed to accomplish wrapping about 6 presents. I'm not doing very well, but the night is not over. I must go stitch now.

Today I started step 2 of Drawn Thread's ABC Sampler. I didn't get enough done to make it picture worthy so I will hopefully work on it tomorrow after work. That is if we have school. There is only a little bit of snow left but where it was melting the roads were wet and now there are spots of black ice. I know this sounds minor but last Tuesday they cancelled school when there wasn't even snow because of the frost, it made black ice. Cancelled!! That is insane we are going to be going to school til the end of June if this keeps up. I will say though this is a much needed break for me because I have been getting so stressed out and defeated. So all I have left is 2 full days and a half day before Christmas break. Excited. I'm going to get so much stitching done.
Anyway I am watching the Survivor Finale and going to stitch, I know Terri must be watching it to. I'm not sure who I want to win but right now Fabio has won immunity and going to be in the final 3 look out! 3 challenges in a row!

Knitting

I wanted to show everyone what I have done on my scarf that I have started. This is the first time I have knit anything. Thanks again to Jennifer who taught me. This yarn is grey and black.

It is so soft, I'm really excited about it. I'm off to stitch for a bit, I just got off of work and I think I will work on Bent Creek, Christmas Mantle while I watch Survivor (DVR'd it).

Snow Day!

Today I had off because it was a SNOW DAY! Yahhhh. I am almost 99.9% sure it will be a snow day tomorrow too. This is the first time in years that it has actually snowed and amounted to something before Christmas. Maybe we will have a white Christams, fingers crossed. :) Here are some pictures.

Unfortunatly my boyfriends restaurant was open tonight and I had to work but at least I had the day off to do some stitching. I went to lunch and then worked on Bent Creek, The Christmas Mantle. I made a little progress but hopefully I will get some more stitching done tomorrow (if its a snow day) before I have to work at the restaurant at night.

I'm Back!

Did everyone think I wasn't coming back? Well I think I am starting to understand how to juggle teaching and life.

Anyway... Last night was Stitch and Bitch's anual Christmas dinner/party. Me and my mom stitched Shepherd's Bush, Holly Night for Sally. My Secret Santa was Pat and I was her secret Santa! I made her 4 praire schooler strawberry christmas ornament. She made me a scarf I don't know the correct name for it, it is connected, cow neck? It is knitted and is a basket weave. It is absolutely beautiful! Here is the picture...

I know everyone is wondering if I have been stitching since my last post, we won't talk about how long ago that was, but I have! I don't have a picture of Holly Night by Shepherd's Bush. :( I think Sally might have it on her blog (salty yarns) in a few days. I have been working on Bent Creek, The Christmas Mantle.
I also have been working on Shepherd's Bush, Here We Go A Haunting.
In October I went to Salty Yarns annual Jamboree, I also have worked on some class pieces but haven't got any of them done yet.

Also, Jennifer taught me how to knit! I am so excited about that. Next post I will post a picture of what I have done on the scarf that I am working on.

Long time no blog!!! I want to let everyone know that I received a Second grade job position!! Woohooo!!! I am happy but very overwhelmed. I have been so busy with meetings, my classroom, and waiting tables!!! I also bought a new computer and it won't load my pictures on here so I will have to post them from another computer hopefully in a couple of days. Before I received a job I started working on Christmas gifts, so I wont be able to share them but I also have a couple of other things that I am working on every once in a while.

I have completed Country Cottage, Seascapes series. Completed on 28 count Sapphire linen. I am so happy to have this completed.On the house front... The roof is completed! Woohoo! There was a huge mishap though. While they were constructing the new A frame it decided to rain about four inches! So it destroyed our bedroom. The good news about that is that the room is going to be completely gutted and re-done. The bad news is that it wasn't going to be next well now it is next starting next week. We have also almost completed the spare room. I will post pictures as soon as its done.

Construction Zone

I started collecting the Little House Needleworks, Christmas Ornaments. I decided that I wanted to stitch them over one instead of two. I am using thirty count which it calls for, but I have changed some of the colors. I started "Snowy Pines" (below)
I have also been working on Country Cottage, Summer Seascapes series. I just finished Chart four and I am waiting for the last chart to come out so it will be completed. The picture below is of the fourth chart.
As most people know our house has been under construction. At the beggining of this week Jon and my dad and his crew started on the roof which is a huge project! First off, there was thre layers of shingles and then cedar shakes. So all of that had to come off then they had to put ply wood on it. Also, we are getting an A frame on the addition side of our house so this is just a huge mess! The side that doesn't have the addition is done! So that side has been cleaned up but the other side is a different story, it looks like our roof threw up all over our yard. But hopefully (finger's crosses) it will be done by Monday. I have high hopes! :)

I am backwards...

Let me explain... I live on a torsist driven island that rolls up their sidewalks in the winter. So it seems that in the winter is always when I have more time to blog and vacation. While everyone else in the world goes on vacation in the summer and stays indoors. I wish that I could but I wait tables at least five nights a week and our kitchen is usually over a hundred degrees on a good day. These past couple of weeks have been unbearable in our kitchen. Im looking forward to this cold front that is supposed to get here later tonight.
Anyway... This is my second post in one week! Looks like my goal for July has started early! As I stated in my last post, I have been working on part 1 of the Drawn Thread ABC Sampler. Well it is completed, now I need part 2!
Im off to sit on the couch in my nice air conditioned living room to stitch on Country Cottage Series before I have to go to work.

Winter Yet?

Everyone seems to blog a lot during summer, its like the summer olympics and I am left out. Blogging is usually my sport during the winter. I find a lot more time. Im kind of upset that I haven't been able to blog as much so far this summer. My goal for July is to post at least once a week. Wish me luck!
Enough with my rant, here is an update picture on Country Cottage, Seascapes Series. This is the forth chart in the series and ther is only one left, which isn't out yet.

It is the end of June already! I have tons of things to share! I have some things to share...
As everyone knows I have re-modeled my bathroom. I bought this awesome shower curtain but couldn't find a curtain for the window to match it so I decided to make a valence. I went and bought another shower curtain and cut it to make it. Isn't it cute!? I have never made one before but I think it came out great.
I have also finished the third chart on the Country Cottage Seascape series. Only two parts left! (They haven't came out yet) When I took this picture I realized that I left out the stars on the top of chart three but I will add them when I get the next chart. I am moving on to another WIP because for the past couple of days I have un-stitched on this chart more then I have stitched.
Maybe I will work on my Quaker Diamonds. I really need to work on my class piece but its almost done so I keep putting it off. Geeeesh... I have talked myself into working on my class piece. Off I go....

Uhg...Technology!

I have been trying to update my blog since 9 this morning! I need a new computer this one is retarded! Anyway...
This past weekend was the annual May Retreat at Salty Yarns in Ocean City MD. I decided to work there instead of attend the retreat so I worked Saturday and Sunday cutting fabric. I really enjoy cutting fabric and working in the shop. I would rather quit my job and just work at Salty Yarns every day, even though my stash would end up filling my whole house to the ceilings.
On the stitching front, I haven't got much done because of work and the bathroom remodeling project but here is some update photos...
This my quilt. It only needs a small brown boarder around the edges and a bigger boarder after that. So it is almost completly done.Here is Quaker diamonds. I haven't worked much on this piece.
Here is my class piece, not much progress but it is getting there.Here is the Country Cottage new series. The third piece came out and I am behind! This is what I plan to work on tonight.Stitch and Bitch is tomorrow night and I plan on taking picture and getting a lot of stitching done so I will be back in a couple of days with pictures of that and of the bathroom. (It was finally finished today) I only need a curtain for the window!! Of all the things to forget, I forgot the first thing you see when u walk in uhg!

Stitchieness

I told everyone in a post a couple of weeks ago that I learned how to quilt. Here is my quilt so far. It is kinda long but this is just the first two rows put together. I have completed all of my blocks just have to assemble them now.I have completed the first chat in the Country Cottage, Summer Seascape series. (sorry about the picture this pattern doesnt like the camera, the fabric is a light blue)
I have also worked a little bit on my class piece.
And last night I couldn't contain myself anymore I had to start Quaker Diamonds by Rosewood Manor. Today my objective is to work on my Lauren Sauer class piece but I get a little side tracked so I might wonder to the diamonds ( they are a girls best friend) :)

Remodeling

I would like to share with everyone what I have been doing for the past ten days. First, me and my boyfriend have been remodeling our bathroom. We stripped the whole thing including the walls and the ceiling! Here is a before picture and here is a now picture but the bathroom is still a ways from being completed.

The bathroom used to have these plastic blue tiles on the wall (in the picture). Some would fall off every couple of weeks. It was rediculous.

We dry walled the walls after we insulated them (yes this is an old! house and they didn't have insulation!) and we decided to put real tile around the tub and on the floor. I love the tile work that my dad did! There isn't grout in the tiles on the floor yet because the glue is still drying but there is grout on the tub tiles. The color of the grout is darker we haven't cleaned the white dust off yet because we cant walk on the floor yet.
Anyway I have been stitching and quilting too so I am going to post that seperate because I have so many pictures.

This week has been horrendous. I am so glad that it is (almost) over! If I could explain everything that has happened this week it would lake me hours! But i will not stir up the past. :) I will just tell you all, the positives. Which is really only two things:

1) I went to a quilting class on Saturday. I had a blast, it was so relaxing! I think it made my blood pressure go back to normal for a couple of hours. I have a picture of what I have done but it is just some squares. The colors are brown, yellow, and some tans. There is green in the one with the flowers so i might make the border green. I am excited because I have never quilted before or used a sewing machine. I think we are going back to the shop to do some more on Tuesday night.2) I went to Salty Yarns with Crystal and my Mom to stitch with Sally. I worked on Country Cottage series chart 1. By the way, this fabric is light blue!!! I have no idea why it turned out tan in the picture!
I haven't worked on my class piece for a while but I do have a little progress to show.
I am hoping to work on this, this week. But I can't seem to pry my hands from the Country Cottage piece. Unfortunately I have to go because I'm at work. :(

Weekend is Over! :(

First I would like to present to everyone... What a hoot! and "Needle and Thread." Da da da daaaaa!!!I also have tons of pictures of Jane Timmer's Finishing class Part 2. (Below)(Everyone who's picture is on here, please don't hate me.)

I just love everything that we made! Now I can finish anything! I had so much fun and I want to thank Sally, Sara, and Mary for making everything run smoothly and Jane Timmer's for coming. Now listen to me, I sound like I am making a speech. :)

I also added to my stash: Country Cottage Needleworks, Summer Seascape Series and Rosewood Manor's, Quaker Diamonds. I have started the CCN Series and will have pictures of my progress on that and my Lauren Sauer's Class piece next post.

The good...and the bad.

Good News! : I put together LHN "Needle and Thread" and The Cat's Whiskers, What a hoot! WoooHooo.

Bad News! : I forgot to take pictures of it before I let Sally display them in her shop! I know I am just horrible!

Rewind.....

Monday : Had off and Stitched!

Tuesday : Worked at night but wasn't too busy.

Wednesday: Went to work at night but left early to go to church for passover.

Thursdays : Went clothes shopping for work which is khaki's and a white polo. Boring! Then went to work.

Friday : Went grocery shopping and got my nails done then went to work.

Saturday : Went to the new quilt shop that just opened and signed up do a class to teach me and my mom how to quilt. Exciting! then put together Needle and thread and What a hoot!. Then unfortunately went to work.

Sunday : Woke up early and worked out and went to Salty Yarns to stitch with Sally and Sara. Ate a salad for lunch (shhh... I haven't really told myself yet that it was really a hot dog and fries). Then went to work.

Total of people I waited on Thursday thru Sunday : 150! See and now I know why I am crazy and forget things.

Even though I have had a busy week I have managed to make a little progress on my Lauren Sauer's class piece.Anyway...This weekend is the Jane Timmer's Finishing class Part 2! I can't wait, I have everything packed. Yes even my camera and I will take tons of pictures and even of my finishes that I forgot to yesterday.

It's Monday!

Like I said yesterday... I finished Little House Needleworks, "Needle and thread". There is a scissor fob that goes with it as well but I haven't finished that yet. This piece is the blanket that goes on top of the bed pillow.I have also made some progress on Lauren Sauers, Reddeworke Beach bag. (Class Piece). I am going to work on this tonight. Hopefully I will get a lot done. :)

One day this week I hope to put some of my finished, stitched, pieces together. (Key word "hopefully") My poor craft table is piled and I must find the table that is under there somewhere. I have taken a couple of pictures of some finished things that have been staring at me and yelling that they need to be put in their rightful form. The last picture is of two patterns that will be framed.

Quickie

Just stopping by to say that I finished one of the pieces for Little House Needleworks, "Needle and thread." I ironed it and a couple of other things to and went to get my camera and what do i find? Nothing!! I have left my camera in the lady's car that drove us to Atlantic City. So now I have to wait til tomorrow to post my pictures but I will have tons of them. I have been trying to be good and just work on my Lauren Sauer class piece called "A Reddeworke Drawstring 'Beach' Bag" but, I like to work on something little while I work on big projects so I started Little House Needlework's, "Needle and Thread." When completed, this design goes on the bed pillow that I posted a couple of weeks ago.I have made a little progress on my class piece but not much. This little bit is part of the other side of the bag. This is what I have so far...

Tomorrow I go to Atlantic City for a food show! Can't wait! I am going to take my stitching but not sure how much time I will have to stitch. Well tonight I have all night so I am off to work on my class piece!!

Thanks to Kate, I have managed to take a little better looking pictures. She told me to look for a macro setting on my camera. Well I didn't have one but I tried about three other settings and found this setting called shutter... something or the other. But it makes my stitching look a lot better then just the auto setting. Thanks Kate!
So last night I sat down and stitched until my fingers felt like they were going to fall off. As a result I now present to you..... drum roll please.......
By The Bay Needlework's, Winter Cove. Stitched on 32 ct Smokey Pearl with DMC floss. I'am so happy how this piece came out.
I also finished one side of my class piece bag by Lauren Sauer. The center motif was supposed to be done in stem stitches but I got a little carried away after I finished the strawberries and backstitched over half of it before I remembered it. So I decided to leave it backstitched. I think it still looks great!! Shwoooo.... I got a lot done but now I must start the next side of the bag for my class piece. Tata for now!

I have update pictures. Here is my Lauren Sauer class piece and By the Bay, Winter Cove.
I have made some progress. But I just wish my pictures would come out as beautiful as all these other blogs that I visit. Their pictures are just so clean, crisp, and seem to show colors the way they are supposed to be. Ahhh...maybe one day. Off to watch our DVR'd American Idol.

In June I am taking a class by Lauren Sauer at Salty Yarns. I am very excited because this is the first time I have taken one of her classes. Last year I just fell in love with the class piece so ever since last June I have known I wanted to take this year's class. Here is my progress on the class piece.
It is absolutely beautiful. The picture isn't very good. I tried to take it in the sunlight but it gave it a blue tint. Maybe next time the color will come out better. The only thing is, is that I am not used to stitching with interfacing on the back of the fabric so it is taking me a little longer then I thought it would. Now I just can't wait until June to see it complete. But I have plenty more stitching to do on it so I will be back with more progress.

As for By the Bay, Winter Cove. I have made some more progress but want to work on it a little more before I show another picture. I hope everyone's week has had a great start. I know that I am suffering from a really bad cold but I think it might be from working in an elementary school for the last couple of weeks, or maybe the drastic weather change, who knows?

Newbies...

I promised I would show my new things that I have bought but I forgot... until now. For me to only be 23 Im really forgetful. and a hypercondriac, maybe I have a tumor. lol. Moving on... Last weekend I bought ANOTHER Shepherd's Bush pattern. Not that anything is wrong with that except that I cant seem to get away from them. I keep buying more and I already have like ten in my to do pile. So this is Shepherd's Bush, Scatter Luck with all the threads and buttons.
I also bought the new Little House Needleworks pattern called "Needle and thread". I absolutly LOVE LOVE LOVE this pattern. and I especially love the bed pillow!! This pattern may have to be next. It is moving to the front of the to do pile.I also have made some more progress on Winter Cove by By the Bay. It is coming along. Only about 4 more snowflakes and a moon left.I hope everyone's week is going well. I don't know about everyone out there but I know that I will be happy to see the weekend!

Shepherds Bush, O Beautiful!
This piece is so beautiful. It is my pride and joy.
Lately I have been "slacking" on blogging. I have ben really busy. I have gone back to work at night and during the day I have to do hours at the local elementary school for my last class. Yes I said it, My LAST class! I get my Bachelors degree in K-6 this May!
Anyway...I have made a little more progress on By the Bay Needleart, Winter Cove. I plan on working on this a little tonight along with a class piece.
I also went to Salty Yarns today and bought lots of goodies that Sally and Sara brought from Nashville. My next post will be of what I bought. Tata for now!

Shwooo... I have had a long couple of days. This past weekend I went back to work, waiting tables. I love waiting tables but I feel like I have ran a hundred miles. Ive been off for over a month and running around all weekend just wore me out! Anyway... I think I have recovered and am back to bloggy land.
I started a new project a couple days ago. It is "Winter Cove" by By The Bay Needleart. I wish these pictures could show how much the colors just pop off of the fabric. I absolutly love this pattern and it is fun to stitch.I also got a call today saying that Shepherd's Bush, O beautiful is done being framed along with two prints that I bought from Micheals, that I am going to put in my living room. The framers is about an hour away so I might not get up there til this weekend. :(

A finish and snow update

I finished Beekeeper's Cottage by Shepherd's Bush!!I also have some picture of the second snow storm. This last storm was weird because we got ALOT of rain before it started snowing then it all froze and the snow piled on top of it.
I love snow and it is supposed to start snowing AGAIN tomorrow!! I know I cant believe it. We have broke records this year!I have some progress on my Jane Timmers class piece but i am almost done so I am going to finish it and then post the pictures. Wish us luck tomorrow it is supposed to snow all day. Im so excited!

Progress X2

I have some more of my class project done.Here is my progress on Shepherd's Bush Beekeeper Cottage. The picture of the whole piece is very close to the color of fabric. Its over dyed so there is a dark streak through part of it. I really like the fabric.
Supposedly there is a Nor Easter heading this way with snow/sleet/ice/rain coming with it. I have heard so many different stories all of the weather channels say something different. I wish I could get paid for lying like they do. As everyone knows I love snow and hope it snows a lot but if anyone seen the pictures of the past two Nor Easters, you will see that the tides are the worst part of it. So if it snows alot and the tide is covering our road we are going to be in bad shape. Thats not putting in that they are calling for 60 mile an hour winds. But who knows what to believe. But you can believe it when I say that if it is interesting then I will have plenty of pictures to share. Hey... maybe I really can be a weather lady.... Syke, definatly not. But if I can't go anywhere it means that there is more stitching time! Yahhhh!!!
Ohhhh.... Yeah. Rain, snow, sleet, or shine I will be at Salty Yarns on Sunday they are having their big Super Bowl Sale!!! Wippeee! Can't wait, I better borrow Jon's 4 WD truck to get there just in case. :)

Snow!!!!

So yesterday was my day of nothingness and I got caught up in my nothingness and didn't post my snow pictures, so here they are..
(Above) These 2 pictures are from yesterday. Which was the day after the snow day. Yeah our roads still look like that today too. The only reason it didn't stick on the trees was because it was windy.(Above) This is my back deck we could barely get the screen door open. Right after it stopped snowing.(Above) this picture was taken when it was still snowing but I thought the steps were neat looking.
I know that if you are from somewhere it snows a lot you probably think I am crazy for making such a big deal about the snow but it doesn't snow hardly ever here and I absolutely love it!! Now I have to go un-stitch what I stitched yesterday. Im back tracking. :(

New word...Nothingness

On vacation I was working on my class piece for the Jane Timmers Finishing Class (Part 2) at Salty Yarns in April. Im really excited about it. I kindly asked if I could show my progress and she has given me permission.

This is going to be a pouch, a pinkeep, and a needle case. I have not stitched the needle case yet, that is what Iam going to work on tomorrow as I drink hot chocolate and watch TV....ALL DAY! Can't wait, it will be the first day since vacation that I have nothing to do. Wish me luck because something will probably come up.
I was told that we have received twelve inches of snow. That is definitely some kind of record because I was told that twelve inches hasn't happened here since around the late eighties. On our way home tonight we rode by about 4 foot snow drift!!! No I didn't type that wrong. I really wish that we could have stopped so I could have stood by it. But Jon told me that we would get stuck again. Yeah again, we got stuck with 4 wheel drive. Crazy! The roads are completely covered, where we live we are not prepared for this much snow. Anyway... I have some pictures of the snow and I will post them tomorrow while in my bliss of nothingness. :)

Finally Finished... Completely

I finished putting the final touches on Shepherd's Bush, O Beautiful. It has been stitched but I just had to put the beads on. I wanted to make sure it was finished because the framer that I go to is having a twenty percent off your total purchase sale for the month of January. If anyone lives near Salisbury Maryland and needs some stitchy pieces framed I would highly recommend going to Classic Custom Framing. They do a great job and have good prices.

I had a great time! I was happy on vacation but I am very happy to be home. I think three weeks is a little long for a vacation. Now I must go catch up on stitching and reading blogs. Be back soon!

1/2 Way through vacation!

I have already been to Cancun Mexico and Im now in Los Angeles California! I have never been to the west coast and it is definatly a new experience for me. (I have stitchy pictures but can't show them til I have permission it is a class piece) I have lots of pictures to show of my vacation so far. The first couple of pictures is of our tour of LA yesterday. We also visited the stars houses but the pictures are mostly of the front doors and gates so I left them out.

I have a couple of pictures of my progress on Beekeepers Cottage, they aren't very good pictures though :(I haven't stitched very much because I had to work this past weekend and I have been busy gettimg ready for my vacation. On Thursday we leave and fly to Cancun Mexico for a week. Then we fly to Los Angeles for two days and leave from there for a week cruise to Cabo, Puerto Valarta, ans somewhere else that I can't pronounce or spell. I can't wait!!

I have pictures of the patterns that my mom gave me for Christmas. The fist one is By the Bay Needleart, Winter Cove. The threads are so bright against the fabric! I can't wait to start it.This one is Blackbird Designs, Raise A glass of Cheer. This pattern also has great colors with the fabric. I think I need more hours in a day.I also got Just Nan, Scream house. This is an exclusive to The Silver Needle. I can't wait to start this but it looks so nice all packaged up! So little to do and so much time...

I want to show everyone my progress on Shepherd's Bush, Beekeepers Cottage.
This pattern is different from some other SB patterns that I have done. The rows are a little more difficult. They have stitches like, lazy daisy, french knots, and basket weaving. Now I have heard of all these things but never actually done them. I was explaining my problem to Jon and he say, "just look it up on U tube." I am not a U tube person so I laughed and said, "they wouldn't have stitching on U tube. " Then he preceded to explain to me that everything is on U tube and that a friend of his even learned to drywall using U tube!! Can you believe that. So I went to U tube and sure enough they had tutorials that were just so easy to see and do. Now, thanks to U tube I am that much smarter. :) Maybe I should learn to drywall next... tehe... NOT!
I have still not uploaded my pictures of my Christmas stitchy pattern gifts so hopefully tomorrow or the next day they will be up. What a slacker I am. I have nothing to do and still seem to get nothing done. :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I wanted to post a picture of what I stitched my mom for Christmas. It is Shepherd's Bush, Mother's Heart.It came out beautiful! She loved it! I will probably be back tomorrow with some progress pictures. I haven't got much stitching done the past two days but I plan on stitching tonight and tomorrow afternoon after I get back from my trip to Salty Yarns. Can't wait! I'm getting fabric for some patterns that I got for Christmas. I will also post them tomorrow as well. :)

Productive Day

Today I decided that I needed to wash my car. It is black and had turned white because of the snow, salt, and sand on the road. There is still a little bit of snow in some places but not enough to make a big mess. My car came with all weather floor mats and fabric ones. Well the rubber mats were in the trunk. You would have thought that I would have put them to use since it has been through three Nor' Easters already but I guess it just slipped my mind. (DUH!) Other then clean the inside and outside of my car I have made dinner, read my book and stitched a little, very productive :).
I have almost finished the top scene of Shepherd's Bush, Beekeeper's Cottage. The only thing left on that section is a couple of back stitched letters.
I really like this pattern and I don't think it will take long to stitch because it is not very wide. I'am pretty sure I will get more done tonight. I seem to be a bit of a night owl lately.

I know I usually only post every couple of days or maybe even once a week, but the restaurant I work at is closed until new years eve and then we are closing again for a month! I am so excited! I have time to stitch, blog, or just do nothing.
Since I finished Shepherd's Bush O Beautiful, I decided to start another project and plus I don't have many WIP, I need to create more. :) So I decided to start Shepherd's Bush, Beekeeper's Cottage. (I couldn't figure how to get a picture of the pattern on here so click the link if you would like to see it)
I know what everyone is thinking, "another Shepherd's Bush!" I just can't get away. I went in my craft room and got lost for a couple hours today and after a LONG debate I finally decided on the Beekeeper's Cottage. I had plenty of other choices but I decided that I didn't want to start a big project right yet. So here is what I have done so far, it isn't much but its a start.Probably will be back tomorrow since Im on a blog roll. :)

AGAIN!!

I think everyone knows by now but if not, I live on the Eastern Shore. For the past month or two we have had two really bad Nor' Easters and have had flooding. Well we are now getting another one. I got all excited yesterday because I thought that for once we were going to get snow before Christmas.....NOT. I was very wrong and it is now raining and flooding...again! Now I will tell you that I like rain because when it rains I seem to get more stitching done but the news has been telling me that it is supposed to snow, so now I am depressed that they were wrong....as usual. I really don't know why I am so surprised. Now for a funny story....
Once upon a time (the end of November) our pumpkins were ready to go away. So Jon being so creative decided to throw them in the marsh across the street. He said the would rot and go away (poof!) Then we had the last Nor' Easter and the floated back in our yard, go figure. So when the tide went out it took them with it and I haven't thought about it. Until today... On our way back from lunch (We had to go the long way because the tide was so high). So about a mile from the house we see a pumpkin in the middle of the road! Who put that there!! So we stopped and picked up the one in the road and the one that was on the side of the road. So I guess we have to throw them away the right way. :) Lesson of the day: Don't assume things just go away, they always come back to haunt you if you don't take care of them. By writing this post I hope that Jon doesn't get arrested for polluting. I don't think it is polluting if it degrades. Tehe.. Lesson learned.

Here are the gifts that I gave at the Stitch and Bitch Christmas dinner. This was for Hedy who was my secret Santa or I was her secret Santa... ohhh whatever. I made this for her. :)
Here is some Monogram pin cushion tea cups aren't they cute?And last but not least, this was my present that I made for Sally, Shepherd's Bush, Quaker Heart. Sally is such a great person, I look up to her and she does so much for me, my mom, and everyone she meets. She has a great personality and runs a great shop. I felt that I should make her something nice for Christmas because she deserves great things. She seemed like she loved it!

I was sally's secret Santa (or she was my secret Santa) geezzzzz... She made me a present!! But that present deserves a post of its own so I will be back with pictures from what I got at the Christmas dinner.

I have plenty of pictures to show!! First, here is The Lord's Prayer by Big Toe. It is framed and ready to wrap for Christmas. This is for my hopefully future mother in law lol. Shhhhh... I had help because the one color thing is not my cup of tea.And now.... Da da da Duhhhh! Here is my house all decorated.

I tried to take pictures of the outside when the lights were on but of course my camera doesn't like the dark. Drat!

I also started a new project, in the lite of the season. :) This is Little House Needleworks, Winter Wonderland. It is stitched on Zweigart's 28 ct natural raw linen. I just love this pattern! It gets stitched onto this cute pouch after it is done, Here is pictures of the pattern and the bag/pouch that it gets stitched onto.

Why? Why? Why?!!

So...My computer has been acting stupid. That is all Verizon's fault!! And my Direct TV (satellite) has been acting stupid as well. I have three satellite receivers and TWO of them didn't work as of last night. So I called Direct TV last night and told them that two of my receivers weren't getting signal. They did one thing and told me that they couldn't help me, I needed to call a service man. Well one of my receivers hasn't been working but it is in my craft room and Im usually doing more important things then watching TV in there so it wasn't a big deal BUT when our 56 inch big screen doesn't have TV especially on a Sunday when football is on, that is a huge problem. Anyway... when the lady told me that she couldn't help me or tell me why it was working just ten minutes before it went out, I turned red in the face and hung up and screemed obsenities. So my internet has been acting up and I couldn't connect to the internet for a while. When I was tring to connect like an hour ago and it wasn't working, I looked at my boyfriend and told him that I was going to call Verizon and scream at them and tell him that it was all direct TV's fault and jon said, "Ummm..... Candi, Verizon and Direct TV are oowned together." Well... I turned red in the face and wanted to throw the computer but I closed my eyes and counted to 10 about.... only fifty times and calmed down. I then calmly (somehow) got online and now Im here finally posting my pictures of the storm...

(Above) (Two pictures) Now this is almost high tide on the first day, it didn't quite cover that hump of grass. But definatly covered the whole road and most peoples yards.
(Above) This is a road believe it or not. The car is pulled off on the high part of the road and is still stalled out. (isn't mine lol)

(Above) UHG!! This is the highest tide we had Friday morning. high tide was at 5:30 am and this picture is at 3:30 am. Its a bad picture but I want to tell you! It took my mulch out of my flower beds and left it in my back yard. Now my back yard is higher then my front and I have mulch on my first step to my back door. Even our garage was about 6 inches under and that is in my very back yard.

Rain, Wind, Floods...O MY!

I don't know if everyone seen my pictures from the last Nor' Easter we had but it is looking like that is going to happen again. I live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on an Island and we are being hit pretty hard with rains, wind, and flooding from hurricane Ida. The reminents of Ida have turned into a Nor' Easter when it hit our Low and High fronts. I don't get what that all means but I have been hearing it all day so I thought I would share. The tides aren't too bad yet since it just started this morning but tomorrow is supposed to be worse and Im sure I will have some interesting pictures of my little Island.
Anyway... On a stitchy note. I have made some progress on Shepherd's Bush, O Beautiful.

I finally downloaded the pictures of me and Jon on Halloween. They are hilarious.

I have taken down all of my Halloween decorations, now on to decorating for Christmas!!! I tend to skip Thanksgiving decorations because I just love Christmas so much and need to decorate ASAP!

Halloween Weekend

This weekend was the Second Annual C.A. Wells retreat. Well she doesn't come to the retreat that is the funny part. Last year C.A Wells was supposed to teach a class at Salty Yarns. She had requested that twelve people sign up for the class because she wouldn't come if there were any less. C.A called and was told that twelve were signed up for the class and C.A then said she wouldn't come unless there were 15 in the class. Sally told here that she could find three more people with no problem to take the class and C.A said that it wasn't worth her time to come. So she cancelled last minute. Sally, Salty Yarns shop owner tells the story much better then I do with many details, you can probably find it on her blog shortly. Everyone had scheduled to come to that weekend last year and decided to come to stitch anyway, so Sally has made it an annual retreat where we all come to gather and stitch! Anyway... I took pictures of the great decorations that Sara had put up.

I also finished, pumpkin, on the Lizzie Kate Boo flip its.
And... With much help from my mom, I give you the Lord's Prayer by Big Toe.
I also have pictures from Halloween night, me and my BF dressed up as clowns!! The pictures are on a -need to see- basis. Hopefully I will have them downloaded off my camera tomorrow. ~~Thanks to everyone that has left the wonderful comments on my giveaway post I jsut love them all!

I live on Chincoteague Island, on the eastern shore. If anyone lives close or on the coast they will know that we have had a Northeaster. Well my poor little island has become a victim of bipolar weather. Here are some pictures of my front yard at nine thirty this morning. The bad part is is that these pictures are after the tide went down for a half hour. Now let me explain, there is a road past the grass strip in front of my house!! (1st pic). In the second piture the road is supossed to be in front of the mail box! CRAZY
Here are some more picture at around eleven am around the island. O by the way it was 47 degrees today!

I also finished my Halloween wreath today. I want to put something else on it, maybe some styro foam ghosts.Sorry no stitching pictures, hopefully soon I will have something I can show. :)

Clutter, Unacceptable!

Here is a picture of my craft room table. I know its a disaster. I hate things being messy. Tomorrow my goal is to get some things completed and put in its place.
On this table I have several different piles. One pile is to be put together, one for my secret Santa stuff, one for little gifts to give, and one for future projects that are top of the list. The rest of my future and past projects are neatly filed away. I know you all are saying "Filed!" Yes I have huge binders with my projects that are completed and my future projects.

Great Weekend!

This weekend was awesome. I learned so many new things. Something that was very unique was Peyote beading from the Fern Ridge Collection! Look at what I made. I also bought the needle and scissor book to go with our class piece. O I just love it!

I also painted fabric and then stitched on it. Catherine Jordan taught us how to do it and it turned out very beautiful. The pattern will go on a circle box and has another pattern that goes on the inside, I wil show more pictures when it is complete. She also has some beautiful map pieces that she has designed.
I bought a lot of nice things to. I bought a lot of fabric for my secret santa piece and some cute pin cushions that I want to make. I also bought Apple Betty (Below) This pattern will go in my future classroom and speaking of, I just got my score results back from my Praxis 2 test and I passed with flying colors!I hope everyone's week is going well so far. Stitch and Bitch starts back tonight! I so love fall!! I will have pictures of stitch and bitch in a couple of days!

Halloween and Jamboree!

Ive decorated my house for Halloween, actually I decorated in like the third week of September; what can I say? I LOVE Halloween. I really wanted to put a hay bail out front, but so many people have told me they get really nasty and hard to dispose of, honestly I think they are just jealous, lol.

Sorry about the picture, it was really windy today when I took it and you can't see my cute flag :( It says Happy Halloween and has a black smiling cat sitting next to a smiling pumpkin.

And here is Velcro, my very own black cat with a white mustache, tie, and boots.
Here is my future Halloween wreath, I spray painted the wreath black and I'm going to put the ribbon around it and hot glue the sign to it.

I must tell everyone about tomorrow and Sunday!!! Tomorrow is the start of the 9th annual Stitcher's Jamboree at Salty Yarns in Ocean City. I can't wait! It features Pam Reed from Olde Colonial, Catherine Jordan (works with painting on linen), and Patricia Cherry from the Fern Ridge Colloection. I can't wait I'am so excited, work is going to last forever tonight!! I will make sure to take plenty of pictures this weekend. Tata for now I must go work on some Christmas presents because I won't have time this weekend. :)

Back from Blogging vacation...

I haven't blogged in forever. :( I wish I had more pictures to show but like I said before, I have been working on Christmas presents and the people that they are for read my blog, but that means I will have plenty of stored up pictures to share in December. Right now I am working on three Christmas presents one is the Lord's prayer which I can show, one of the presents I can't show is almost complete and only needs a couple letters and beads and the other present has a ways to go but I should be starting a new project that I can share very soon. I think I am going to star Shepherd's Bush, Halloween night. Here is a picture of the fabric and threads. I have completely changed the color of the fabric.

This fabric is Weeks Dye works 30 ct. Im not positive what the color is exactly but it is a dark purple. The threads look so good on it Im excited to start this pattern. I will have to change the color of the words, I think I will make them orange.

I have a funny story to tell...
The other night I was working, waiting tables. Some one called the restaurant and asked if we had saved a to go box that was left the previous night. Now let me tell everyone, it was five o'clock the next night. We proceeded to tell her that if a to go box is left, we throw it away at the end of the night. She then asks if we can cook her more food!!! What? who would ask to be made more food when it was their fault they left the to go box! Anyway the hostess proceeded to tell her that we do not cook new food when it was half eaten. She then says that she is a high class citizen in the community and sends people to the restaurant all of the time. After she talked to several different people she got on the phone with the owner. The owner is very non confrontational so after she gives the whole spiel about her being high class, blah blah, the owner told her we would cook her half a meal. Uhg!!! who gets away with that stuff. Silly!

Anyway... Im going to go work on some christmas presents. I hope everyone has a great week!

Framed!

The first set of pictures is Shepherd's Bush, Autumn's Blessings. I loved this frame immediately!! It turned out beautiful.
The second set of pictures is a pattern that I stitched when I first started cross stitching. It is Bent Creek, Snapperville. I'm usually not fond of reddish wood but this frame with the gold inside trim seemed to be meant for this pattern. I hope you enjoyed my framed pieces. Now I'm off to stitch for a bit before me and Jon go to dinner. Yeah I know, crazy, me and him actually have a day off together.

Where is my life jacket?

My Autumn's Blessings and another piece that I had finished a couple months ago are done at the framer's, I am so excited to pick them up. I am going to get them on Saturday, can't wait! For the last couple of days I have been working on Big Toe, The Lord's Prayer. Here are the update pictures.I haven't been working very much on Shepherd's Bush, O Beautiful because I want to get the Lord's Prayer completed.Here is a close up on the last row because the picture above doesn't show it.
Right now, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia it is a very wet place to be. To go outside and get to my car I have to be bare foot with my pants rolled up to my knees and my shoes in my hands. Its crazy my car almost stalled out going to the grocery store. I really enjoy rain and cloudy weather for some unknown reason but at this point of the year it reminds me that fall and winter are coming which is my favorite time of year.
Well I guess I will be back after I get my framed pieces back!

Well when I took these pictures...I thought that the "big picture" was complete BUT when I was fixing and cropping the picture I noticed that I forgot the sun rays. So everything is done except for them and I am successfully past the half way point on Shepherd's Bush, O Beautiful. :)

The Grand Tour

Lately I have been redecorating my house. In the kitchen I painted it red and tan and have a coffee and late theme.In the dinning room and living room I went with the "pier 1" theme lol. I love the colors. The table, below, will be decorated for each holiday. For Halloween it is going to have a halloween village. My boyfriend just loved the bottles on the table he said that we could be fancy and put alcohol in the bottles and have a mini bar for guest lol. But I told him that if someone would spill something on my thirty dollar table runner I would kill them. :) The door knobs are so cute I love them. I still need to find some things to hang on them

The dinning room and living room are kind of similar but the living room is more modern with chrome accents.

I hope everyone liked the tour of my house!! I have update pictures of Shepherd's Bush, O Beautiful but I think I will put them in another post tomorrow.

I have worked a little bit on Autumn's Blessings by Shepherd's Bush. I have changed the lettering because I like this lettering better.

Now that I don't have school you would think I would get more stitching done, even though I have two jobs. But, I have been busy redecorating my house. I bought all kinds of new things from Pier 1 but I didn't stop there. I decided to paint my kitchen. When the kitchen is done I will post pictures of my whole house. It feels brand new. :)

SCHOOOOOL'S OUT FOR THE SUMMER! I'm so happy school is over, even though I only have three more weeks until I start again, I'm still happy. I still have two jobs uhg! I am way too nice. School is almost over for the summer!! I can't wait. Lately my days consists of waking up, doing school work, then going to work at night. And sometimes I wake up go to one job, get off and go to the next. I have been so stressed that I haven't been doing much stitching. I think that is why I have been so stressed. Today I have off and so far I have woke up and done school work. I think the rest of the day will consist of stitching. Hopefully nothing will come up to mess that up. Anyway... Last time I went to the shop I bought the new Shepherd's Bush Halloween night pattern. The fabric wasn't in yet but that is ok since I have plenty started.

Autumn's Blessings

I promised a progress picture of SB Autumn's Blessing yesterday but I got so caught up stitching and doing absolutely nothing that I forgot all about it so here it is.

I don't have to work tonight until 7 so I'm hoping that I will get some stitching done but it is 2 now and so far I have only done some school work, laundry, dishes, and eating. So hopefully stitching is next. Hope everyone's week is going well.

Craziness

July has been crazy already and it is just the beginning! Unfortunately, I offered to help out at a ice cream shop where I live. So I have been working during the day four days a week and at night five days a week. I have been so tired. I have tomorrow off! Im so excited. Hopefully this week won't be as stressful and I will have lots of updates. I did go to Salty Yarns and stitch with my mom and Sally on Friday. I have a progress picture of Shepherd's Bush O Beautiful. But I also have made good progress on Autumn Blessing but don't have a picture yet. I will definantly post it tomorrow though because, I HAVE OFF! Sorry the picture isn't the best.

I finished another row on O Beautiful by Shepherd's Bush. It was a bigger row then the rest but it is absolutely beautiful. The picture doesn't show the row to well but you can get the idea.
I also wanted to show everyone where I stitch at. Here is my house and what it looks like from the front yard.

Last Tuesday we had stitch and bitch. Since my birthday was Thursday Sally brought me gifts!!! I received several things that were teacher related (my classroom is going to be so cute) Jokingly I sighed and said...."Darn, now I actually have to finish school" lol I just keep telling myself..."one class left, one class left." She also gave me some new stitchy things!! She game me Autumn Blessings and The Toy Gatherer by Shepherd's Bush. Oh I just love love love them!! (Thank you Sally!) Now I need to start them!! Uhg I need to stitch faster. Lately school has been kicking my butt so I haven't been able to stitch much. Maybe I will get enough stitched this week to show some progress pictures. Until then.....

Today I woke up early and made my LK, if the broom fits, into an easel. I didn't have enough orange thread to make the cording for it yet but I plan on buying it tonight so it will be finished finished in a couple of days. :)

I also finished a couple more rows on my Shepherd's Bush, O beautiful
I am going to attend Stitch and Bitch tonight. I think I am going to work on LK Halloween double flips. But most of the time I just talk and eat so I don't know if I will get enough accomplished to share. But tomorrow I plan on stitching all day before work. Im so proud of myself for centering the new lettering. I absolutely love this piece. I think I might go work on it some more. The next row is Spanish weaving, fun! :) Hope everyone's week is going well!
